Kappeln an der Schlei mit Museumshafen und Traditionssegler - Luftbild | Das Wahrzeichen Kappelns ist die 32 Meter hohe Holländerwindmühle „Amanda“, erbaut 1888. Sie diente ursprünglich als Kornmühle und Sägerei. Heute beherbergt sie die Tourist-Information und ein Trauzimmer. Bei geöffneten Türen ist die Aussichtsplattform kostenlos zugänglich und bietet einen herrlichen Blick über die Stadt, den Hafen und die Schlei. Die historische Sägerei neben der Mühle funktioniert als „working museum“ – mit originalen Maschinen aus dem 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert.
